~🖤Velvet Shadows & Crimson Promises (A Dark Romance Short Story)
She wasn’t naive
She knew exactly who he was — not just a man, but a predator dressed in nobility
A Count. A Vampire
An immortal creature from a lineage soaked in velvet, blood, and ancient vows
And still… she accepted his invitation
The manor stood silent atop the cliffs like a forgotten hymn. Its gothic spires scraped the sky, and the moon bathed it in silver loneliness. She didn’t flinch
She walked through those iron gates knowing full well that the wine she’d drink might be laced with blood… that the hand that held hers once gripped ancient throats
But his voice was the storm she longed for
And his promise — “You are safe here. You are mine.” — was a lullaby sweeter than sanctuary
She sat with him in shadowed halls, dined beneath chandeliers that flickered like dying stars
And though danger swirled in every glance he cast
she didn’t want safety
She wanted surrender
Because some hearts are drawn not to peace… but to the ache of the beautiful, tragic ruin
And so she stayed
Not out of innocence — but because even damnation, with him, tasted like love.
☾ For the souls who love too deeply — even when it devours them
